Opening with an infectious groove, Le Babar’s latest tune ‘Love Biscuits’ captures the listener’s imagination from the get-go. Various sound effects sizzle throughout the stereo field, while a beautifully-filtered melody line builds its way up until its retro sound is front and centre. The heavily-manipulated vocals that finally enter as the piece drops keep the retro vibe going, with inflections of disco and 80s pop being heard over that continually catchy beat. The track is taken from the recent Soul Food EP, available on the Sundries label, and the Belgian DJ really shows off his eclectic influence throughout the entire release.  -Dan Peeke
